The property itself is a pretty Victorian terraced cottage, including a fantastic sunny and secure walled courtyard at the rear. Dating back to the 1800s, the 2-bedroom period property holds a wealth of history. Today the house has been fully refurbished, boasting fabulous, striking interiors which provide a comfortable home-from-home feel. The welcoming hallway leads to a light open plan living-dining area with a feature bay window, leather sofa, comfortable chairs and original Ercol dining table and chairs for 5 guests to dine together. The kitchen has smart white units and black granite worktops and includes a full range of modern appliances including built-in electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, kettle, and a Dolce Gusto coffee machine.
The walled courtyard is a fantastic feature of the property, being south facing for lots of sunshine and offering outdoor dining facilities.
The ground floor family bathroom has been refurbished in a Victorian style with a free-standing vanity basin, toilet and a large bath with powerful overhead shower. Fluffy towels and quality toiletries are provided.
Upstairs there are two lovely bedrooms .. a large master bedroom with a very comfortable kingsize bed and a smaller bedroom with a bespoke-built double bed plus single (adult size) bunk. As is often typical in terraced Victorian houses, the stairs are quite steep so please take care and ensure younger children are supervised. The second bedroom leads directly onto the staircase so please watch your step.
Free parking is available upon request (on-street permit parking – no additional charge).
York Station is a very short taxi journey away. You can also hop on the No. 7 (red line) Park & Ride bus service which is readily available from the top of the street. This service travels to the city centre and the Designer Outlet with stops at Clifford Street (for the Jorvik Viking Centre) and the train station.
Don’t forget.. you are also welcome to bring your four-legged friend .. lovely riverside walks are accessible from the bottom of the street and York is a very dog-friendly city.
